The Roddens Cycle North to South
We (that's me, Dan, and my Dad, Brian) have decided to join over 50 riders from all across the UK to cycle the length of Israel from the very top (Kyriat Shmona) to the very bottom (Eilat) – over 700km in 5 days.
Although it certainly will be a nice change of scenery from the office, it will not be an easy ride, battling searing temperatures and double digit gradients.
The thought alone of our pale English skin going 6 hours a day against the Middle East in May should be enough to make you dig deep and pay!
We are investing many hours of training in order to complete this mammoth task, a challenge for both, but especially so for Dad, who has had to dust off the bike having hardly touched it since our last charity ride together 5 years ago!
We are riding to raise much needed funds for the UJIA supported Carmiel Children’s Village, home to over 200 children orphaned or court ordered to leave their families. We will be refurbishing one of the family homes in memory of Darren Walshaw z”l.
The ride will also support A Smile for Orly, a Manchester based charity in memory of Orly Feddy z”l which provides services and support to local children’s activities.
We are aiming to raise £5,000 and would very much appreciate any support!
